Abdullah Abdurahman (oil on board, 18cm x 18cm, 2010)
Abdullah Abdurahman (872-1940) was a co-fouder of the African Political Organisation in 1902 and also president of the APO (later to be renamed the African People's Organisation). He was a member of the Cape Provincial Council and the Cape Town City Council for decades and spent most of his political life (he was also a medical doctor) fighting for the coloured vote in not only the Cape, but also the rest of South Africa.
